Welcome! The BGSA is an organization designed to enhance the graduate student experience. We strive to provide a forum where matters of concern to graduate students are discussed, where opinions on actions and proposals of the faculty may be expressed, and where proposals of the Biology Department and graduate student groups may be initiated. We also conduct programs and services of special interest catered toward graduate student academic and professional development. Through this, we hope to establish a comfortable, productive working environment for the entire Department of Biology.
In addition to our academic missions, the BGSA also functions with the social interests of graduate students in mind. We provide numerous opportunities for students to interact with each other and broaden their experiences in graduate school. All of this serves the purpose of producing well-rounded and well-educated graduates.
